OF THE NEW YEAR EXHIBITION SALON
AND THE BIENNALE OF ARTISTS OF VRANJE
1996–2023

The exhibition has been organised to mark 30 years of the Gallery of the National Museum of Vranje (1995–2025) and the 10th Biennale of Artists of Vranje (2025).

The exhibition presents awarded works of art shown at exhibitions held, in different periods, under the title New Year Exhibition Salon of Vranje, as well as at the Biennale of Artists of Vranje. The selected works originate from individual editions of these exhibitions realised between 1996 and 2023.

The New Year Exhibition Salon of Vranje was initiated in late 1996, with the aim of expanding the existing exhibition practice and presenting the annual artistic production of artists from Vranje within a broader exhibition context. From 2007 onwards, following changes in the organisational framework, the exhibition adopted a biennial format and has since continued under the title Biennale of Artists of Vranje.

Over the decades of these exhibition programmes, more than 500 artists have participated, while the selection of works and the awarding of prizes were carried out by three-member juries composed of art historians, art critics, artists, professors, and museum professionals. The awarded works presented in this exhibition reflect different periods and approaches within the framework of the exhibitions mentioned, without any subsequent selection or interpretative addition.

The official opening of the exhibition will take place
on Tuesday, 30 December 2025, at 7.00 pm,
at the Gallery of the National Museum of Vranje.

The exhibition will be open to visitors
from December 2025 to January 2026.
